The Ladies Golf Club of Toronto
7859 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario
September 27, 2021
The Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto, North America's only private golf club established by women for women, was established in 1924 by Ada McKenzie, a visionary, entrepreneur, amateur champion and Canadian Golf Hall of Fame member.
Great stories abound how Ada could not get a loan to buy the land to build her golf course. Stanley Thompson posed as her husband, they went to the bank, and the rest is history. The farm estate on Yonge St., where the street car line ended, would become the Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto.
Our very special guest, Canada's only World Golf Hall of Fame member who won:
* Canadian Amateur(11 times)
* British Amateur
* US Amateur
Marlene Stewart Streit OC
The day will begin with a light lunch and follow with 18 holes of golf at this amazing Stanley course.
Registration is limited to 24 Stanley Thompson Society members.
Please note - this is a non-refundable although substitutions are accepted.
