Lambton Golf & Country Club
Toronto, Ontario
In 1902 Albert Austin located a property whose topography would lend itself to the design of the finest urban golf club in Canada if not in North America. His search had taken him to the Village of Lambton Mills, a 19th Century community at the crossing of the Humber River and Dundas Street West. From the height of land the property dropped 200 feet to the Humber River in four tiers, allowing a course to be built on several different levels. Stanley Thompon's role at Lambton primarily involved updates and renovations through the years 1927 to 1947.
