'09 Tournament Info

  The 2009 Thompson Golf Classic will be held on September 17 at Galt Country Club in Cambridge Ontario. Galt CC began as a 9 hole course designed by Percy Barrett in 1906. In 1930, under the direction of a Stanley Thompson, the golf course was expanded to 18 holes. In the early 1960's four holes were lost to the adjacent hospital lands requiring layout revisions, sympathetic to the Thompson design, by Bob Moote (who had worked directly with Stanley Thompson in the late 40's and early 50's.)  Prior to the Club's 100th anniversary an irrigation reservoir and bunker renovations were undertaken by Doug Carrick.
