Stanley Thompson 'Provenance'

A new initiative, one fundamental to the Society and Thompson clubs is the authentication of true Thompson facilities and the development of a classification and assessment model for Thompson courses as per initial design, modifications over time & current status. Phase I - Graduate student and CPGA member Kirsten Brown plus faculty experts in the field Dr. Cecelia Paine and Sean Kelly researched purported Thompson golf courses in Canada and those where consultation, remodelling etc. may have taken place.

Phase II - Establishment of Thompson Course Classification Criteria ~ Ms. Brown and Dr. Paine developed a classification and assessment model for Thompson courses as per initial design, modifications over time & current status.

Phase III - Evaluation of Current Course Status ~ to follow completion of Phase II as resources and funding are available.
