STS Technical Guides

One of Founder, Past President, Honorary Member & Executive Director Bill Newton’s numerous laudable initiatives during his tenure as President of the Stanley Thompson Society has been to spearhead the creative development of a series of “Technical Guides” intended to assist Thompson clubs in not only the restoration and master planning process, but also in addressing present day and burgeoning issues affecting on-going operations and in some cases, sheer future survival. The guides are intended to be a valuable resource to Green Chairs, Superintendents and those who are dedicated stewards of Stanley Thompson golf courses.

The Society is planning the first release of Volume 1 Technical Guides. Executive Director Bill Newton and Society President David Moote are hard at work collaborating with industry contributors in the technical writing, illustrating and production phases, as well as with the associated fund raising and sponsorship necessary to bring the project to reality.
