Highlands Links – Stanley Thompson Historical Society

The ‘Highlands Links – Stanley Thompson Historical Society’ is a single purpose non profit group whose goal is the raising of funds to be used for the creation of a life size bronze statue of Stanley Thompson, one of golf’s greatest course architects. Once created, the statue will be installed on the grounds of the Highlands Links Golf Course located in Ingonish, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and become a tribute to Stanley Thompson and the workers who created this world class course.

The Highlands Links – Stanley Thompson Historical Society are requesting assistance in fund raising and sponsorship as well as direct donations from those interested in this Stanley Thompson initiative at the Highland Links Golf Course. For more information please contact Greg McMullin at:  info@friendsofstanleythompson.org or visit the web site at http://friendsofstanleythompson.org

The ‘Highlands Links - Stanley Thompson Historical Society’ has applied for tax exempt status as a non profit group and expect to receive their non profit designation from the Canadian Revenue Agency in the near future. The founders of the group are Greg McMullin, Peter Malloy, Bill Murphy and Mike Dunphy. In addition to the four founders the group includes Director Ken Donovan, who has knowledge and strong ties to Ingonish and Highlands Links as well as Mr. Geoffrey Cornish who serves as Honorary Chairman.
